Unit 11 It’s a cow.

 

Period 1

 

Teaching aims:

  1. Can understand and say words a cow, a pig, a duck, can distinguish and imitate the sounds of these animals, such as moo, quack, oink.

 

  1. Can use the sentence patterns What is it? It’s a … to talk about animals.

 

  1. 培养学生爱护动物,珍惜生命的情感。

Teaching procedure:

Step 1 Warming up

  1. Greeting.

 

  1. Sing the song Eight little baby ducks.

 

Step 2 Presentation and drill

  1. Game: Who is the fastest?

 

2. Show cow’s picture.

  Ss: What is this, Miss Ou?

  T: It’s a cow.

Guide to read word and sentence pattern.

T: Read after me. A cow, a cow. c-o-w, cow.

T: What is it?

Ss: It’s a cow.

 

3. Ask a student imitate the sound and action of cow.

  T: Who can act a cow?

  S1: Moo! Moo!

  T: What is it?

  Ss: It’s a cow.

 

4. Use the same method to teach words a duck, a pig.

 

Step 3 Practise

  1. Listen to tape and who can repeat it phrase by phrase.

 

  1. Game 1: Quick response.

 

  1. Game 2: Guess, guess, guess.

 

Step 4 Consolidation

  1. Create situation and make dialogues.

情景:几个好朋友在放学回家的路上经过一家玩具店,被店里琳琅满目的动物玩具所吸引。大家你一言我一语,兴高采烈地谈论着。

S1: What is it?

S2: It’s a cow.

S3: What is it? Is it a bird?

S4: No, it isn’t. It’s a duck.

教学反思:

    英语课不应该是单调的、枯燥的,而应该是丰富的、活泼的。而这一切则需要我们老师动脑筋、想办法,利用多种形式的教学活动来激发学生的兴趣,让学生在课上说、唱、跳、做事情,使英语课成为一门融会各种学科的课程,从而使英语课登上一个崭新的阶梯。

  1. Can understand and say new words a hen, a mouse, can distinguish and imitate the sound cluck, squeak.

 

  1. Can use the sentence pattern What is it? It’s a… to talk about animals.

 

  1. Can understand and read Part D.

 

Main point and difficult point:

  1. Grasp some animal words and use the sentence pattern to talk about animals.

 

2. The usage of It is a… and It isn’t a…

 

Teaching media: Textbook, teacher’s book, tape recorder, tape.

 

Teaching method: Audio-lingual Approach

 

Teaching procedure:

Step 1 Warming up

  1. Greeting.

 

  1. Sing the song Eight little baby ducks.

 

Step 2 Presentation and drill

  1. Play a guessing game.

T: What is it?

Ss: It’s a cow/pig/duck.

T: No, it isn’t. ( show the picture ) It’s a hen.

Guide to read and write word hen.

 

  1. T: What is it?

Ss: It’s a hen.

Write sentence patterns What’s it? It’s a….Explain that What’s it? is the short form of sentence What is it?

 

  1. T: Cluck, cluck, can you act a hen?

Ask Ss imitate a hen’s sound and action.

 

  1. Use the same method to teach word a mouse.

 

  1. Listen to the tape of Part B and read after it together.

 

Step 3 Practise

  1. Game 1: Guess, guess, guess.

 

  1. Game 2: A little actor.

 

  1. Listen to the tape of Part D, understand and read it.

 

Step 4 Consolidation

  1. Create situation and make dialogues.

情景:Dino过生日了,好朋友送来玩具动物,庆贺他的生日。

F1: Happy birthday, Dino! This is for you.

  1. Alphabet Kk and words that Kk as in.

 

2. Understand new words and read sentence.

 

Teaching media: Textbook, teacher’s book, tape recorder, tape, alphabet cards.

 

Teaching method:

 

Teaching procedure: Audio-lingual Approach, Direct method.

Step 1 Warming up

  1. Greeting.

 

    2. Sing the song Body Song.

 

Step 2 Presentation and drill

  1. Put on the letter Kk.

T: Hello! I am Kk. What’s your name?

S1: My name is …

T: Hello,…!

S1: Hello, Kk!

Show the card of letter Kk, guide to read it.

 

  1. Ask Ss put on letters and introduce each other freely.

 

  1. Guide to write big letter K, inspire Ss found the stroke of big letter K.

 

  1. Guide to write small letter k, inspire Ss found the stroke of small letter k .

 

  1. Ask Ss close their books and listen to the tape of Part E, if someone can repeat it word by word.

 

  1. Ask Ss open books, listen to the tape and read Part E together.
