Eventually, I had to involve a mediator to help resolve the conflict. It was a difficult and time-consuming process, but we were able to come to a compromise that satisfied both parties.

In situations like these, it's important to remain calm

and respectful, even if the other person is being difficult. It's also helpful to have a third party mediator to help facilitate a resolution.
