关于体育精神和卓越的英语作文

By wenkookoo

As Billie Jean King once said, sport teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose----it teaches you about life.

Many people assume that winning is everything, and this is where the problem concerning sportsmanship lies. For a man with mature mind and high aspirations, winning is not everything. Take the example of Eugenio Monti. People who are familiar with his story surely will stand by his side in fierce competitions when much is at stake.

A distinguished athlete has his career and achievements, but more importantly, he has qualities. To achieve success, performance counts, and so are determination, strong willpower and hard work.

The Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger” tells it all. A man must not be content with what he has achieved. Instead, he should by all means try to push his own limits, which will set his spirit free.

Many celebrity athletes have left their marks on the history of sports, like Ali, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sir Bobby Charlton. It can be seen from their cases that champions are not made in the gym or on the field but in the heart.
