MIL-C-26074E3.6Workmanshi~3.6.1Basismaterial.Thebasismaterialshallbefreefromdefectsthatwillbedetrimentaltotheutility,appearance,orserviceabilityofthefinishedproductorpartandcoating.3.6.2Nickelcoating.Thenickelcoatingshallbesmooth,adherent,andfreefromvisibleblisters,pits,nodules,porosity,cracksandotherdefects.Alldetailsofwork-manshipshallconformtothebestpracticesforhighqualitycoating.4.QUALITYASSURANCEPROVKIONS4.1Responsibilityforinspection.Unlessotherwisespecifiedinthecontractorpurchaseorder,thecontractorisresponsiblefortheperformanceofallinspectionrequirements(examinationsandtests)asspecifiedherein.Exceptasotherwisespecifiedinthecontractorpurchaseorder,thecontractormayusehisownoranyotherfacilitiessuitablefortheperformanceoftheinspectionrequirementsspecifiedherein,unlessdisapprovedbytheGovernment.TheGovernmentreservestherighttoperformanyoftheinspectionssetforthinthisspecificationwheresuchinspectionsaredeemednecessarytoensuresuppliesandservicesconformtoprescribedrequirements.4.1.1Responsibilityforcompliance.Allitemsshallmeetallrequirementsofsections3and5.Theinspectionsetforthinthisspecificationshallbecomeapartofthecontractor’soverallinspectionsystemorqualityprogram.TheabsenceofanyinspectionrequirementsinthespecificationshallnotrelievethecontractoroftheresponsibilityforensuringthatallproductsorsuppliessubmittedtotheGovernmentforacceptancecomplywithallrequirementsofthecontract.Samplinginspection,aspartofmanufacturingoperations,isanacceptablepracticetoascertainconformancetorequirements,however,thisdoesnotauthorizesubmissionofknowndefectivematerial,eitherindicatedoractual,nordoesitcommitthegovernmenttoacceptdefectivematerial.4.2Classificationofinspection.Theinspectionrequirementsclassifiedasqualityconformanceinspection(see4.4).specifiedhereinare4.3‘Inspectionconditions.Unlessotherwisespecified,allinspectionsshallbeperformedinaccordancewiththemethodsofinspectionspecifiedin4.5.4.3.1Inspectionlot.Alotshallconsistofcoatedpartsofthesametypeandclass,samebasismaterial,andofapproximatelythesamesizeandshape,coatedun-derthesameconditionsandbymeansofthesamecoatingprocess,andsubmittedforacceptanceatonetime.4.3.2Separatespecimens.Whenthecoatedpartsareofsuchformastobenotreadilyadaptabletoatestspecifiedherein,oratthediscretionoftheinspectorfor6Source: http://www.assistdocs.com -- Downloaded: 2006-08-13T15:05ZCheck the source to verify that this is the current version before use.
